These are excellent for winter cycling. They are waterproof, have a closed front with a side opening, and are tall enough to avoid slush. They also provide great grip without being so wide that they interfere with pedal straps. I ordered them one size bigger than my shoe size, but I would order two sizes bigger if you plan to wear multiple pairs of socks. They are fantastic, and surprisingly fit my wide feet. I am very happy with them and recommending them to my friends.
